The season of Lent is a time of surrender, an opportunity to renew our hearts in God’s grace and mercy by the power of the Holy Spirit, as we look forward to the joyful celebration of our redemption through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which this year fall’s on Valentine’s Day. Fittingly, our theme during Lent will be drawing closer to Jesus, our first love.
