KEY POINT
Gen 3:14-15: a faint whisper, but distinct word
that fills us with hope and wonder and worship.
A. Who is this serpent?
Revelation 12:9, Jude 1:6, 2 Peter 2:4
Intent on doing everything he can
to [deceive] God’s people and [destroy] God’s plan.
B. Who is this Coming One?
Galatians 4:4, Matthew 1:20-21, Isaiah 7:14 & 9:6
C. What, where, and when is this battle?
"He shall bruise your head,
you shall bruise His heal."
– Genesis 3:15
bruise : to lunge for, to strike
to crush
The decisive battle took place on the cross and in the empty tomb, and it all got started the night that Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
Two things we should see about God:
- God will not have His [holiness disregarded].
- Neither does He set aside His [gracious purpose] for humanity.
